Mon Tout rouge (a play on the name of the village of Monthou) is two thirds Pineau d’Aunis, one third Gamay, grown on flinty clay. The nose is explosively fruity, like a woodland berry salad. On the palate it’s got beautiful red fruit and a dry finish. Stick this baby in the fridge for ten minutes, and you’ve got summer down. -mayhew
